- The Slytherin Quidditch team was captained by Emma Vanity.[1]
- Syria wins the 417th Quidditch World Cup. The International Director of the ICWQC resigns following the final, in which his pet law banning all wands from the stadium except those carried by ICWQC officials was flouted en masse by all spectators in the stadium, who had concealed their wands in Dissimulators, ostensibly objects to show support for their preferred teams during matches.[2]
